Overview
In this workshop, participants will work through diverse/anti-racist children’s literature with an aim of facilitating and promoting discussions about racial and social diversity within the classroom. This workshop will focus on the authentic storytelling and the voices of historically marginalized people. Participants will use children’s literature as a platform for fostering inclusivity, dismantling racism, and pursuing social justice in schools and the community. This workshop builds upon content within the teacher education programs regarding literacy and multicultural education.
