Course Introduction

This course is about Wellness as a paradigm for personal health. Participants will learn about Wellness theory, wellness models, how to set realistic goals that are achievable, and how to develop an individual wellness plan. Participants will also learn about Complimentary & Alternative Medicine and its role as an adjunct to traditional western approaches to healthcare.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course:

  • Students will learn about Wellness as a Health Care paradigm.
  • Students will learn Wellness theory and models.
  • Students will learn in depth about the Educational Model of Wellness.
  • Students will develop their own Wellness plan.
  • Students will learn about and understand CAM therapies.
  • Students will learn and practice five relaxation skills.
